Coaches and Teams Wanted!

The Maryland Middle School Football League has been established to provide an opportunity for serious 6th, 7th, 8th and a limited number of 9th graders to improve their skills and knowledge in preparation to play high school football.  While there are many excellent youth football programs in the metropolitan area none exclusively serve this age and weight group.  The MMSFL was founded as a joint effort of the Capital Beltway Youth Football League (CBYFL) and the Rockville Football League (RFL).  It is anticipated that teams representing Silver Spring, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Derwood, Rockville, Bethesda, Takoma Park and several other areas will begin play in the Fall of 2003.   We are seeking experienced youth league coaches and organizations to take part in the MMSFL inaugural season.  The only requirement is the ability to field one team that meets the age and weight target.  Organizational help will be available to qualified parties. It is the goal of the League to provide a competitive atmosphere for players up to 155 pounds (135 for a limited number of 9th graders that will not turn 15 before Nov. 1 2003).  Every head coach and participating organization will have an equal role in the formulation of MMSFL Rules and Regulations.
